Custom Architectural EIFS Foam Shapes

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)

From columns to arches and cornices to window surrounds, high-performance architectural EPS shapes have unlimited design possibilities and are used in stucco and Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS). Our suppliers have the EPS fabrication technology that solves many construction and design challenges in addition to adding beauty to both residential and commercial buildings.

Modern Wall Systems (MWS) simplifies the design and estimating process by utilizing only the best EPS manufacturers to ensure customer satisfaction. Our suppliers have the latest innovative computerized technology to accurately design and fabricate EPS for your project. Standard and custom architectural EPS shapes are produced with precision and consistency to shorten lead times.

All of our EPS Architectural Shapes are manufactured with high-performance EPS. The material can be manufactured in a variety of densities to meet the needs of your project. EPS meets tough exterior wall specifications and has been used in the construction industry for more than 30 years. EPS is the preferred substrate for all stucco and Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) because it combines unlimited design potential with material strength and durability.

Custom architectural EPS shapes are recyclable and environmentally friendly. They contain no CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs or formaldehyde and are chemically dormant and safe.

EPS Compatibility & Design

EPS is approved by numerous acrylic, acrylic-modified and Portland cement-based stucco and EIFS products. Consult MWS for more information. The following systems are listed by the EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA): Polymer Modified Miner Combination Systems (PM), Acrylic and Mineral Combination Systems, Polymer-Base (PB) Acrylic Systems and Mineral-Base (MB) Cementitious Systems. EPS can be specified in densities from 1 – 3 pounds per cubic foot. Very little weight is placed on a building, frequently eliminating the need for additional structural reinforcements. EPS can be adhesively attached to a variety of substrates and provides excellent surface bonding for base coats. Consult your Stucco or EIFS manufacturer for installation procedures.

Design & Estimating

EPS Architectural Shapes can be easily estimated and designed. Simple information such as overall height and width, in addition to any other pertinent interior dimensions, will be needed for an estimate. All other interior dimensions will be scaled proportionately. Please contact your local design estimator for more information.

Quality Assurance, Building Codes & Industry Standards

MWS has a quality-assurance program monitored by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). A quality-control manual is retained for inspection by code personnel and is verified by continuous in-plant material testing and independent laboratory sample testing. This procedure allows MWS to provide certified/code-listed EPS.
